Preston Event Videographer

Back in June, The Leyland Town Team hired us to produce this short highlights from Leyland Festival. It was a scorching day in Leyland town for the parade and once we arrived at Worden Park for the music and festivities, the party was in full swing.

The Encounter Festival 2023 took place throughout Preston over a full weekend. Packed with local performers and artists, it certainly was a feast for the eyes and ears. The Harris Museum contacted us to follow the action.

Close Up Magician Andrew Dean is launching a new product through his website for magicians to use in their performances. Once again, he asked us to produce a promotional video for COMET, with the only direction being ‘Please don’t make it cheesy’
In the space of 3 hours, we filmed this video in a conference room at Mitton Hall using a little window light and a small LED. You can view a Behind the Scenes image taken by one of Andy’s friends below.

We were delighted to hear that after sending this video to a potential client in the U.S, Andy secured a large sales order for this product, Job Done!

Artist, Gavin Renshaw was commissioned to create a Mural that would be displayed in front of the Harris whilst works continued. Below is a short video from the opening event.

We produced quite a number of videos for schools around the Northwest during the lockdown periods and honestly thought they would settle down a little now that restrictions have been lifted. Luckily for us, we were wrong. It seems that they have really taken off! Here are a few examples of what we have been working on this year.

The Harris Museum

Preston Videography

Late last year we joined the team at The Harris Museum to take care of their Photography & Videography for web and social media purposes. The contract was for 12 months to see them through to September 2021 when they will be closing down for major renovation’s and repairs for which our work would assist in receiving grants from The National Lottery.
And guess what? They received all the money!!!

Camp in the Collection

Possibly our favorite collaborations with The Harris would be Camp in the Collection. Camp enthusiast, actor, screenwriter and thoroughly nice chap Harry Clayton-Wright takes us on tour of the museum and reveals how much ‘Camp’ is on display.

Harris Live

During the Lockdown, the Harris invited musicians to put on a short set for online purposes. For this we had a multi-camera set up with a sound technician to take care of all the audio. Here are a few short examples from a selections of the shows.

Virtual Country Fayre

The very talented team at Mosney Mill are usually displaying their products at events such as ‘The Country Living Fayre’ but due to the restrictions, this has been put on hold. Like any sensible business, they still wanted to be able to promote their new collections for 2021 and asked us to produce a series of videos (6 in total) that they could send out to clients and various online sites.
We spent only a couple of hours with them on-site to produce the videos below which worked out at a fraction of the price of a stand at one of their usual fayres. No script involved, Just Emma talking about the range as she usually would to anyone who visited her stand.

Working through this Pandemic as a ‘Viable Business’

Well, here we are, nearly a year into our visit from Covid-19, and still no clear end in sight. During the summer of 2020, our Government warned us that those in ‘None Viable’ employment should look at retraining. Although we totally understood their advice, we were not accepting that yet as our first option. Our wedding side of the business had obviously been destroyed, the commercial side was slowly feeding us during the summer but what about when we get into winter, what if this Corona thing was going to outstay its welcome?

Having been self-employed for many years, we were not totally up to date with the Job Hunting Market and how it worked, so we’d casually type into to Linkedin or random sites ‘Videography-Lancashire-Manchester’ and surprise surprise, there was a small number of posts wanting full or part-time videographers as part of their team. After an hour of reading these, I realized that although we are in a worldwide crisis…

These positions landed just at the right time, we got to work in a creative environment on many projects over the first few months and it has definitely made us think about collaborating with other agencies in the future. As a business, we became very insular and just plodded along producing similar content throughout the year and it has also given us a little more time to just enjoy our craft on a personal basis as well, after all, we were enthusiastic camera operators before we started getting paid for it. Just as an example, here is a small project we worked on during Lockdown 3 in our hometown of Leyland.

Promotional videos for Schools in Lancashire

Lancashire School Video Production

During the lockdown period, we worked with a number of schools alongside Outwork Studio.
The brief was basically to produce an ‘Open Evening’ video for the parents and pupils who obviously were unable to look around the school and talk to the teachers and staff to get an idea of the facilities, ethos and general feel of what can be expected in this next stage in their education.

A combination of open shots of the interiors and exteriors, Aerial footage, interviews with staff and pupils all combined to create these videos.

Social distancing actually made the filming part of this process a lot easier than previous works in schools as they had minimal staff on site, hardly and pupils so we hardly had any restrictions and mostly had free reign of the classrooms.

Derian House: Core Values

derian-house-video

Chorley Video Services

Derian House asked us to produce a short video showing what it’s like to actually work there alongside a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, and what the Derian Values mean to them. This is an updated version with all new footage from an original concept we produced for thema  few years ago. Filming took place over 2 days onsite at Derian House, it was a very fast paced shoot with lots of shots to cram in including interviews with staff, drone photography and plenty of B-Roll video to tell the story.
