Well, here we are, nearly a year into our visit from Covid-19, and still no clear end in sight. During the summer of 2020, our Government warned us that those in ‘None Viable’ employment should look at retraining. Although we totally understood their advice, we were not accepting that yet as our first option. Our wedding side of the business had obviously been destroyed, the commercial side was slowly feeding us during the summer but what about when we get into winter, what if this Corona thing was going to outstay its welcome?
Having been self-employed for many years, we were not totally up to date with the Job Hunting Market and how it worked, so we’d casually type into to Linkedin or random sites ‘Videography-Lancashire-Manchester’ and surprise surprise, there was a small number of posts wanting full or part-time videographers as part of their team. After an hour of reading these, I realized that although we are in a worldwide crisis…
These positions landed just at the right time, we got to work in a creative environment on many projects over the first few months and it has definitely made us think about collaborating with other agencies in the future. As a business, we became very insular and just plodded along producing similar content throughout the year and it has also given us a little more time to just enjoy our craft on a personal basis as well, after all, we were enthusiastic camera operators before we started getting paid for it. Just as an example, here is a small project we worked on during Lockdown 3 in our hometown of Leyland.
